9/20/2023 0 Comments World of warships ashitaka review![]() ![]() ![]() I'm not currently running it on my IJN BB captain, but I suspect that I'll be adding it when I can. I would say that Vigilance is just about mandatory on this ship, especially with the rise of DWTs. Also, like Nelson and Hood, this ship has no aircraft and therefore is blind as a bat. Your armor is just strong enough to arm every fuse, so you're going to get soundly thrashed whenever shells start flying your way (angling can address this *sometimes,* but don't count on it). Where it really goes wrong for this ship is defense. It helps when cruisers aren't paying attention and they give you those delicious, flat sides to feast on. Sometimes your shells will gash enormous holes in cruisers, other times they'll shatter and bounce like paper mache props. ![]() Against cruisers, the only thing that you can count on is inconsistency. I'm almost considering the Steering Gears mod, but the Damage Control mod is just too handy when the ship turns into a grill. The problem is that Ashitaka doesn't feel as comfortable as a flanker as Hood, she's clumsy and slow to answer her helm. This leads me to believe that Ashitaka is Hood 2.0 (another ship that I struggled to enjoy, but eventually started to turn in some consistently good performances in), because the only way that you're going to get those tasty shots against good players is by outflanking them. You will paddle such players, because even 33s through the upper belt will add up quickly due on the number of rifles that you have. So this boat shines if your opponents are distracted or incompetent BBs that show you lots of side. ![]()
